Wonkun Jun

La couleur est l'élément fondamental de l'art de Won-kun Jun, comme l'a déclaré l'artiste lors d'une exposition en 2006. L'artiste décrit sa peinture comme une manifestation de sa sensibilité et le reflet de son émotion, en utilisant les "caractéristiques physiques de la couleur et du pinceau". Pour l'artiste, la "couleur" et le "pinceau" sont des éléments humanistes et non des matériaux industriels. Pour l'artiste, la couleur est cet élément indépendant qui lui permet de révéler les émotions qui émanent d'une situation.

Won-kun Jun, en appliquant de façon répétitive des acryliques légers sur une toile apprêtée sur plusieurs couches, parvient à faire ressortir cette harmonie qui émane des couleurs. Les peintures de Won-kun sont pour lui comme "une lettre manuscrite, mon souhait est de les remplir de mes propres couleurs, de mes propres symboles, et de délivrer des mots doux et réconfortants".
