« Beauty repairs ». This is the concept that guides the development of the work of artist and architect Jaime Sicilia. As an artist he works on multidisciplinary projects with painting, sculpture, photography and video. His work is a reflection on color, light, matter, space and time. Nature is primarily the subject and this is offered as a contemplative experience.

Jaime Sicilia

"Love and beauty are the great challenges of the human being and it takes a lifetime to understand them. My work is dedicated to addressing these issues.”

The Miroir de Keiko Nakamura series draws on the elegance of ancestral Japanese traditions. Layer after layer — gesso, gold leaf, wax patina — build a poetic metaphor of the mirror as a spiritual and introspective object. Imperfections are embraced, echoing the wabi-sabi aesthetic, and inviting us to reflect on the beauty of what is fragile and transient.
